Family Housing

The Family Transitional Housing Program provides five homeless families with children with a home or apartment at various locations in Davis. The maximum length of stay in the program is 24 months.

Each family is given a safe and stable environment that meets their daily needs for food and shelter while allowing them the opportunity to receive supportive services and to rebuild their lives. Davis Community Meals and Housing staff works with these parents to develop and execute an appropriate case plan that may include assistance with career planning, substance abuse recovery, mental health counseling, parenting classes, playgroups, and life skills training. Staff and volunteers work with clients to set long term goals, seek and maintain employment, and save money in preparation for future housing costs. Staff and volunteers also assist clients in locating permanent housing, furniture and appliances.
