H Street Shelter

Our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing Program for Adult Men and Women provides shelter for as many as sixteen individuals at a time. Of the sixteen bed spaces, fourteen are reserved for individuals in the Transitional Housing Program and two for emergency shelter. During the operation of our Cold Weather Shelter in the winter, all the beds at the Emergency Shelter are used for transitional housing.

Emergency shelter is offered to homeless individuals for up to seven consecutive nights and no more than three weeks per year. Emergency shelter offers the opportunity to be in a safe and stable environment that provides for the basic necessities of life.

The Transitional Housing Program provides adult men and women with a safe and stable environment that meets their daily needs for food and shelter as well as providing supportive services to help them rebuild their lives. Individuals may remain in the program for as long as eighteen months. Staff work with residents to develop a case plan and provide assistance with life skills training, setting goals, seeking and maintaining employment, substance abuse and mental health counseling and obtaining permanent housing. They also provide information and referrals to other services.

The program is located at 1111 H Street, Davis, CA 95616.
